Kambale Musavuli

Kambale Musavuli, a native of the Democratic Republic of Congo and one of the leading political and cultural Congolese voices, is a political analyst with the Center for Research on the Congo-Kinshasa, founder of the IT and Communications firm Aether Strategies, and a director of Pan African Television in Accra, Ghana. He formally served as the Spokesperson for the Friends of the Congo for over a decade, connecting with communities globally to support the Congolese people in their quest to bring an end to the conflict in their country.

As a technologist, he is a self-taught freelance front-end web developer with expertise in open source and major SaaS-based content management systems. He has over 17 years of administrative management experience and over 15 years of freelance front-end web development and consulting in industries such as global health, retail, media and non-profit. He served ThoughtWorks, Inc. as a business analyst and project manager working on software delivery projects in the retail/enterprise e-commerce industries, major car auction companies and applications to support internal company processes in the human resources department.

As a political analyst, Mr. Musavuli’s writings have appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Huffington Post and numerous other academic and news publications. He has also been interviewed on National Public Radio, Democracy Now, ABC News, Al Jazeera English Television, Radio France International, Peoples Dispatch, New Frame, Pan African Television, News Central Nigeria, Russia Today, CGTN, and a number of other radio and television programs. He has been profiled in publications such as Christianity, News and Record, and other newspapers around the world.

His film appearances in Iara Lee’s Cultures of Resistance, Martin Scorsese’s Surviving Progress, and Crisis in the Congo: Uncovering the Truth reflect his keen understanding of the dynamics of the global economy and politics and their impact on the people of the Congo. His expertise in topics such as labor rights, corporate accountability, environmental and social justice has qualified him to serve as a research consultant for a number of film projects, socially responsible investor groups, and government agencies.

Mr. Musavuli tours the Americas, Europe and Africa speaking to university students, religious groups, global leaders, community organizers and many others. He educates and mobilizes individuals and communities to work as partners with a Congolese civil society that strives to end the country’s conflict, control its enormous natural wealth, and build lasting peace and stability in the heart of Africa.
