PATRICIA LOKWA SERVANT

Born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Patricia Lokwa Servant is a Congolese American radio host of CongoLive and Founder of Congo Love, a not-for-profit social enterprise working to empower the Congolese youth in taking control of their destiny. She is also the Engagement Lead Consultant at Africans Rising USA and the Outreach Coordinator and Advisory Board Member with Friends of the Congo. Ms. Servant has over ten years of experience in nonprofit management and administration; including grassroots campaigning and organizing, fundraising, budget management, program outreach, and public and International Relations.
She left the Congo at the age of 8 and lived in West Africa, particularly Senegal before moving to the United States in her teenage years. At a young age, she understood the importance of Education as a driving force in changing the future of Africa. In 2015, she launched Congo Live, a radio show with views and news from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
As a consultant, she has supported activities such as Afro Rumba Night in Washington DC, Congo in Harlem in New York, and ‘KONGO: Power & Majesty” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET), Africans Rising (Civil Society Organization), organizing globally around immigration, illicit financial flows, health, human rights in over 60 countries.
In 2019, she established the Andrée Blouin Cultural Center in Kinshasa, DRC with local partners as a leadership training center providing a space for Congolese youth to apply their talents, skills and expertise for the advancement of their country. The Center also hosts a restaurant, café and a team of human rights attorneys who offer their services to defend victims of human rights violations. As a social enterprise, the Center employs over 10 Congolese and offers an array of internships for university students to acquire practical experience in a work environment. The CCAB has provided over 100 scholarships and facilitated leadership trainings in Ghana, South Africa, Tanzania & Zambia.
Servant continues to work with Africans and local communities for the betterment of the human condition in Congo and in Africa. She has recently worked with Priority Africa Network to help organize the FARAFINA | Black Link Tour. She brings her passion and dynamic enthusiasm for Africa to her work around change.
